Can Anyone Today Witness for Christ?

CAN ANYONE TODAY WITNESS FOR CHRIST? By:  Randy Kea   No one today can give “inspired testimony” as the apostles could in the first century (John 15:26-27; Acts 1:21-22; 10:39-42). The word “witness” and its forms appear over 100 times in the New Testament.  The word “testify” and its forms occur over 60 times in the New Testament.  These words are used in the following ways: 1) To refer to DIVINE or INSPIRED TESTIMONY. 2)  To refer to HUMAN or UNINSPIRED TESTIMONY – sometimes true and sometimes even FALSE testimony (Matthew 26:59). One cannot give...Continue reading→

Second Coming of Christ

SECOND COMING OF CHRIST By:  Randy Kea What does the Bible say about the Second Coming of Christ?  Let us briefly examine this vital subject. First, there is the promise of His coming.  In Hebrews 9:28, the writer says Christ will appear the “second” time.  During His personal ministry, Jesus had promised to “come again” (John 14:1-3).  At the time of His ascension into heaven, the angels that stood by promised that Jesus would return (Acts 1:9-11). Secondly, the Bible describes the manner of the Lord’s return.  Jesus will come in person (Revelation 1:7; Acts...Continue reading→

First Century Church in the 21st Century

FIRST CENTURY CHURCH IN THE 21ST CENTURY By:  Randy Kea   Can we have the first century church in the 21st century?  Reproducing and duplicating New Testament Christianity in our day is not only possible, but absolutely essential if we would please God. It is possible to be a member of the same church that Jesus built over 2000 years ago and that Paul, Peter, Philip, John, Stephen, and thousands of others were members of.  The Bible, the word of God, is the basis for this possibility (II Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 24:35).  Let us note...Continue reading→

God’s Drawing Power

GOD’S DRAWING POWER By:  Randy Kea Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.  It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore, everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” (John 6:44-45)  He also said, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” (John 12:32) First, the obvious question is why does man need to be drawn to...Continue reading→

Why Did Jesus Die on the Cross?

WHY DID JESUS DIE ON THE CROSS? By:  Randy Kea   Why exactly did Jesus die on the cross?  There are several scriptural reasons: First, we note that it was God’s plan for Jesus to die on the cross.  In fact, it was a matter of Old Testament prophecy (Matthew 27:35; Isaiah 53: Luke 24:44-47).  Jesus himself foretold of His own death time and time again (Matthew 16;21; 20:17-19; Mark 8:31; 9:31; 10:33-34; Luke 9:22; 18:31-33). Jesus died on the cross to abolish the Old Testament Law (Ephesians 2:14-16; Colossians 2:14-16).  We now live and...Continue reading→

Knowing God

KNOWING GOD By:  Randy Kea    Do you know God?   Let us allow the Bible to answer some important questions about this subject:  Knowing God. How important is it that we know God?  In His prayer, that He prayed the night before He was crucified, the Lord Jesus prayed:  “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou            hast sent.” (John 17:3). What will happen to people who do not know God?  Paul clearly indicates the fate of all such: ...

Be Not Deceived

BE NOT DECEIVED By:  Randy Kea   Jesus said, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” (Matthew 24:4)  In Matthew 7:15 the Lord warned, “Beware of false prophets.”  He further instructed His disciples, “Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.” (Matthew 15:13) The apostle Paul would later write about those who would by their smooth words and flattering speech, “deceive the hearts of the simple.” (Romans 16:18).  John also warned that “many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (I John 4:1) The Bible speaks and warns of...Continue reading→

Faith

FAITH By:  Randy Kea   We hear a lot, today, about the importance of faith.  The Bible clearly teaches the essentiality of faith in God (Hebrews 11:6), Christ (John 8:21-24), and the gospel (Mark 16:15-16).  The question is not “Is faith essential?” but “What kind of faith saves and blesses man?” The Bible teaches the following about faith:  We are “saved” by faith.  Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 5:1-2  We “stand” by faith.  II Corinthians 1:24  We “walk” by faith.  II Corinthians 5:7  Our obedience to God should be based on faith.  Hebrews 11:8 In the last...Continue reading→

Some are Rewriting the Bible

SOME ARE REWRITING THE BIBLE By:  Randy Kea   The above sentiment is not anything new.  In fact, as soon as you open the Bible and start reading it, you read the account in Genesis 3 where Satan, through the instrumentality of the subtle serpent, re-writes the word of God in order to deceive and lead astray Eve. In Gen 2:16-17 the first recorded revelation of God to man is: “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge...Continue reading→

Changing the Way of God

CHANGING THE WAY OF GOD  By:  Randy Kea  God’s Way is Different Than Man’s God through the Old Testament prophet Isaiah makes the following declaration to his people: “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.”  (Isa 55:7-8)  Man does not think like God thinks.  The only way man can know what...Continue reading→
