HOW WILL YOU KNOW IF YOU DON’T STUDY
By: Randy Kea
Paul wrote, “I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren” (I Thessalonians 5:27). Personal Bible study is very important. There are no shortcuts. It takes time and effort. Why should you study carefully, reverently, and regularly?
How will you know if you have done exactly what is necessary to become a Christian if you don’t study? Most are lost (Matthew 7:13-14). Many will be surprised on judgment day (Matthew 7:21-23). Check your Bible. Are you sure you have obeyed the truth? (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-4; II Thessalonians 1:6-9)
How will you know if your preacher is preaching the truth? If you don’t study, how will you know? We will be held responsible for those we support morally and monetarily (II John 9-11). Let us always check what the preacher says by the Bible (Acts 17:11).
How will I know my responsibilities as a Christian if I don’t study? I must grow and develop as a Christian in order to please God (I Peter 2:2; II Peter 3:18).
How will I know if I’m ready for judgment day if I don’t study? God’s Word will be the standard used in the judgment (John 12:48; Psalm 96:13). Are you ready?
